I was in a bare land
Of weeping dry sand
When I looked up
To see an eagle
hovering in the air
A current ran
Through my nerves
A warning
For immediate tragedy
Wide wings penetrated
Thick air
And I without a fight
Became a prey
Wounded and bleeding
As claws dug into my skin
I didn’t scream
Or fought against
Because I was eager
To see the land
From the sky above
And I knew
The mirage
I was looking for
Will never quench
My thirst.
